Reading Well by Third Grade: Session VI: Strategic Planning for a Comprehensive Literacy Plan: How can culturally relevant pedagogy and parental and community involvement positively support literacy development? This event will focus on empowering students, teachers, families, and communities to create learning environments that offer equitable opportunities with high expectations for all learners. This includes when and how schools give information to families about student reading proficiency including timely information on assessments administered, services available, and strategies parents can use at home to support their student, especially for those students not reading on or above grade level. Examples of engaging community organizations and pre-kindergarten programs to build a continuum of support will also be shared. (Javascript is required to view Mediasite content)
